The Full Story

About our Collective

Fund Out of School (FOOS) was established by teachers in June 2022 to address an intensifying need for academic and social opportunities outside of school in our communities. We provide out-of-school scholarships for children who qualify for free lunch at their school.

FOOS is primarily funded by individuals at this time.

Mission

Fund Out of School directly and simultaneously addresses the opportunity gap, advocates for strength-based learning opportunities, and invests in community by fundraising money, connecting families with after-school and summer school opportunities, and covering the cost of program fees for those who are facing economic hardship. By checking in with the families and children who benefit from our service, we encourage community and mentorship.

Vision

TK-12th grade children who qualify for free lunch at their schools will be able to share in the paid experiences that many affluent children afford on a regular basis. Over time, we wish to see more out-of-school learning opportunities made available to our children so that they may see themselves as leaders and trailblazers.
